Report types we support
In short: we help with the report types Malaysian students are most often asked for: internship or industrial training reports, lab and engineering reports, business reports and case study reports. Each follows a different structure, so the first step is to check your template.
- Internship / industrial training (latihan industri, praktikal) reports.
- Lab reports for science and engineering courses.
- Engineering design and project reports.
- Business reports for management, marketing and accounting courses.
- Case study reports that analyse an organisation and recommend action.
For long assignments in general, see assignment help.
Internship / industrial training report structure
Most internship reports follow a structure like this. Always use your faculty's template if it gives one.
- Cover page, declaration, acknowledgements, abstract or executive summary, contents
- Introduction: objectives of the placement
- Company background: organisation, products or services, structure
- Your role and tasks: what you did, week by week or by project
- Learning outcomes and skills gained
- Challenges and how you handled them
- Conclusion and recommendations
- References, appendices and logbook
The most common weakness is description without reflection. Examiners want to see what you learned and how the training connects to your programme. See our internship report guide.
Lab and engineering report guidance
Lab and engineering reports are judged on method, accuracy and interpretation.
- Aim and hypothesis: one clear sentence.
- Method and materials: enough detail for someone else to repeat the experiment.
- Results: labelled tables and graphs with units and uncertainty.
- Discussion and error analysis: what the results mean, how they compare with theory, and sources of error.
- Conclusion: answers the aim directly.
Engineering courses often require IEEE referencing. See our lab report guide and IEEE guide.
Business and case study reports
Business reports and case study reports are written for a decision-maker. They usually include an executive summary, findings supported by evidence, analysis with frameworks such as SWOT or PESTLE, and recommendations with an implementation plan.
The biggest mark-loser is retelling the facts instead of analysing them. Our case study guide gives a section-by-section structure and a suggested word split, and the business report guide covers report format and tone.
Review before submission
Before you submit, send us your draft for a final check against your template and rubric:
- Does the structure match what your faculty asked for?
- Does each section meet its learning outcomes or marking criteria?
- Are figures, tables and appendices labelled and referred to in the text?
- Are references consistent and complete?
- Has the document been proofread?
We give written feedback you can act on. You revise and submit your own report.

Frequently asked questions
Can someone review my internship report before I submit it in Malaysia?
Yes. Send your draft with your faculty's template and any logbook requirements. A coach reviews structure, reflection, language and referencing, and gives written feedback. You revise and submit your own report.
How long should an internship report be?
It depends on your faculty. Follow your template and word limit, and ask your industrial training coordinator if the template is unclear.
Do you write lab reports?
No. We coach and review. Your own experiment, results and conclusions must be in your report. We can help you structure it and check the discussion and error analysis.
