Public universities usually publish a faculty handbook, a course outline and a standard report format, so your lecturer's course outline is the main source for what is expected.
How feedback works
- Share your brief. Send the question, rubric, word count, deadline and subject.
- Break down the brief. Your coach explains the task words (analyse, evaluate, critically discuss), which criteria carry the most marks, and how to split your word count.
- Write your draft. Work from the plan and ask questions as you go.
- Get written feedback. We review structure, argument, evidence, referencing and language, and give comments you can work through one by one.
- Revise and final check. Fix the comments, then have a last look before you submit.
On short deadlines, 24 to 72 hours is workable for a brief breakdown, feedback on a draft you have already written, or a referencing check, depending on subject and coach availability. Starting a long report from nothing and expecting it polished by morning is not realistic, and we will tell you so plainly.
Campus-specific notes: format, submission portal, similarity limit
UM's official learning management system is SPeCTRUM, and UM has run Turnitin submissions through it. Your lecturer sets whether a given assignment is submitted there, so confirm on the course page.
Before you draft, check four things:
- Brief and rubric: which criteria carry the most marks.
- Referencing style: APA 7th and IEEE are the most common; your faculty decides.
- Similarity limit: the percentage your faculty accepts, if it sets one.
